Phat Stuff!

Today I decided that I would set up a blog.  I am waiting for my website to be completed and it's going to take a few weeks more.  So this seemed like a good idea and if it turns out to be otherwise, I can delete it.

I think I'm getting better at product shots, so what better to begin my new blog than to stick up some of those images.  Maybe it will make the walls feel a little bit more welcoming and less cold.

I am rather proud, but still have a long way to go.  It's not that I'm a novice at making stuff to sell or otherwise, it's just that I never had to take pictures of the things I created unless they were to promote workshops I ran.  People pics, I'm ok at, product pics... hmmmm.  Anyway I ran around the web looking for instructions for a light box.  I had saved info before but as it goes, I am great at saving links, just not remembering where i saved them to whether that's in the ole bookmarking thingy on the browser or in notepad.  So, I fluttered around and found a few and made my little weird looking box.

Now I know that the idea is that not much money is spent on the materials used.  But having realised that daylight seemed to never provide me with great shots either, and the normal light bulb clearly giving off yellow tinged photos, I forked out for some daylight bulbs.  One blew the moment it was put into the lamp and so two new lamps were purchased, with two new bulbs.  I won't bother saying how much it cost in time, faffing around and then finally delivery of these things.  To then realise that I could be in a professional studio and still cock up.  It's also down to me (as my sister so clearly remarked), the person behind the camera.

So there you go.  

So I went from dull, to ok (not a reflection on my character of course) to content until I saw the image on PC screen to deletions, numerous and then to finally realising I wasn't actually supposed to use the flash.  To finally photos that I can use without cringing.  Do I have any blogger tips?  Do I hell as like!  Just get your credit card ready grrl cause it's gonna be more that an old cardboard box and some toilet tissue!
